It has been one week now since the Silicon Valley participants arrived back in Germany.
The first change has been made by installing a new model “Pioniergarage build”. Members of the pioniergarage can get togther weekly here and can really build their own startups.
In this weeks tuesday session Daniel was sharing some experiences we made during the silicon valley trip before we welcomed our special guest Andreas Sperber from Gloveler. He introduced us to the business model and gave us useful tips for projectmanagment.

Daniel telling the pioneers about our silicon valley experiences!

Karlsruhe’s first STARTup Live RhineValley event was a great success. 60 participants from whole Europe (Germany, Turkey, Spain, Romania, Austria) worked hard on their ideas during the weekend 23rd – 25th Sept 2011.
Supported by Vollack, IBM Global Entrepreneur, KIC InnoEnergy, CIE, Kizoo, IHK Karlsruhe and Hoepfner, the participants spent an all-inclusive weekend in Vollack’s fine building. Everything inclusive: mentors (thanks to CyberForum), ideas, food, drinks, RedBull (essential) and a lot of work!

Together with CyberForum and the Innovation Management Department of KIT, we started a new initiative: Research to Business – Live.
Since there’s a huge potential of innovation projects at KIT, we decided to try generating business models based on some of the available cutting edge technologies. The aim is, of course, founding new start-ups.
So far we managed to:
- choose one of five technologies – a new method for desalination of sea water;
- put together a team of four pioneers: Axel Grünert, Daniel Reinhardt, Stefan Marinov and Christina Horn;
- schedule a meeting with the inventors of the technology in order to introduce it to the students.
The team will also participate in STARTup Live RhineValley! If you want to meet them, register here!
Update 08.09.2011
The meeting with the inventors went very well. The technology is really sick and complicated but everybody got a basic understanding.
Update 13.09.2011
Yesterday, we worked on the fundamentals of the business model. On Thursday, we’ll continue with mentors of the Cyberforum (www.cyberforum.de).
