More than thirty freshmen answered PionierGarage’s call for an info event and showed up on Tuesday evening at IPEK’s creativity laboratory. President Sebastian Meyer introduced the overall concept of the PionierGarage and gave an overview of the newly formed departments, which are: Events, Public Relations, Marketing and Sponsoring. He put special interest in transferring the idea of a network where independent members may work out their own businesses. It was made clear to the first semester students, among whom not only business engineers but also mathematicians as well as engineering and computer science students, that an indepent approach to problems together with a certain commitment to PionierGarage itself are most wanted qualifications to have a good start in this club of associated entrepeneurs. “Gründungsinteressiert” is the term that brings us all together.
Today’s special was a live report by Philipp Hartmann, founder and director of Reposito. Reposito emerged as a company in April this year and offers аn elegant solutions to the problem where to put our sales slips. Everyone using this service can preserve them electronically really easy. Philipp Hartmann is a Master’s student at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and started working on his idea in 2009. He concluded his report with the inspiring motto: “Just do it”. Afterwards, he was met with many questions by the freshmen about his personal motivation and the difficulties he encountered starting things up.
The info event was concluded by a report from Daniel Breucker, who will follow Benjamin Bolland as president, about the planned and confirmed topics for the upcoming semester. Among these are the Silicon Valley trip, a new “start-up tour” and many more.
